Eight-year-old Katootje Tekelenburg lives with her neat parents in a new housing estate in the town of Droogbaak. Her family is in a constant battle with neighbor Van Zanten who, like her, competes for the prize for the tidiest family in the Netherlands: the Emmy Gee trophy. This coveted prize will be presented to the winners personally by Her Majesty the Queen. Everything seems to be running smoothly, until Tante Gazeuse from France comes by.
