Renzo was conceived by the technique of in vitro fertilization, but during the medical procedure, part of the genetic material of the embryo was separated with a view to developing, for the first time, a human clone. Thus was born Matthew, "artificial twin" of renzo. Almost thirty years later, Renzo will search through heaven and earth for his "double".
