Während Wilbur in den ersten beiden Staffeln noch versuchte, Ed zu "bändigen", scheint er in Staffel 3 oft resigniert zu haben. Ed übernimmt immer häufiger die Kontrolle über das Haus und Wilburs Privatleben. Die Absurdität der Situationen erreicht neue Höhen, da Ed nun beginnt, sich für Politik, Kunst und soziale Gerechtigkeit (aus Pferdesicht) zu interessieren.

Aus Rache reißt Ed Addisons Antenne ab, der macht allerdings Wilbur dafür verantwortlich, was zu einer Nachbarschaftsfehde führt. Diesmal ist selbst Ed ratlos, wie er Wilbur aus diesem Missverständnis heraushelfen soll.
