Two young people, Pardal and Bebel, arrive in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, fall in love, but hide, from each other, their real identity. Pardal settles in an old train car, a space he shares with Gibi, a black boy who ran away from the orphanage, whose biggest dream is to be adopted. Despite the age difference between the two, they become friends and companions. Gibi goes further, thinks he's finally found a father. Thrilled to hear of the boy's feelings, Sparrow promises that he will do his best to adopt him. In order to survive, Sparrow starts making iron sculptures and selling them in the city.
