Korea - The Forgotten War
2010 45mDocumentary, Drama
8.1
The Korean War began at dawn on June 25, 1950 with the North Korean Communists attacking the South. It lasted three years and killed millions of people among them 37,000 Americans. The conflict became the "turning point of the Cold War" (US President Truman), and the world came to the brink of nuclear war several times. Despite its importance, the war in the United States soon became the “forgotten war” that stood between the “good” Second World War and the “bad” Vietnam War. The same applies to Germany despite its importance for this country (especially rearmament and economic recovery). So far there has been no overall presentation in German. This is hereby made up on the basis of the latest sources from eastern and western archives.
