12-year-old Josephine loves animals more than anything and has a special connection to them through the turtle Törtel. Her mother is a vet in Müggeldorf and taught her how to deal with animals. The idyllic village on Lake Müggelsee borders a forest and is therefore home to many different animals. When one of them gets into trouble, it is Josephine who saves it. Thanks to her detective instinct, she finds the all too often man-made cause of the incident. With her big heart and stubborn commitment, she ensures that something like this does not happen again.
