- rg9400December 22, 2025I'm a fan of Rachel Sennott, so I was excited to see her TV show. Unfortunately, I don't think this show works. It does have some funny moments that made me laugh, but the whole show revolves around a cast of characters that have almost no redeeming qualities. I get that is the point of the show, but for me to care about the random plot and character developments or moral quandaries, I need to care about the characters. It's an unreasonable expectation to create these career or relationship struggles for Rachel's character and then expect me to be on her side when the rest of the show is so geared at making me dislike these characters. Rachel plays the same type of character from prior roles in Bottoms and Bodies Bodies Bodies. She's excellent at that fake airhead cadence. The rest of the cast varies. I think Josh Hutcherson as her boyfriend was the only one that was meant to be likeable, though I did actually like Charlie and felt he was the only character who had an arc I could appreciate and had a good balance between the toxic and pleasant characteristics. There's a character named Alani. She sort of just exists. She has no real role in the show, no arc, and no real comedic moments. Mostly pointless. Then there is Odessa A'zion's Tallulah. I think the show does want us to care for her, but I don't think she really earns it. The actress is having a moment due to Marty Supreme, and she does a decent job acting here. However, I feel like everything is overshadowed by the fact that she's just constantly in absurdly skimpy outfits. So yeah, the biggest flaw of this show is the characters. I actually think the comedy is alright, actually pretty good at times. Plot can only work if the characters work, but I also need to mention that this show has some really random things happen. There are random moments of absurdity that I can't really talk about because they are spoilers, but it just took me out because it felt like it was from a different show. Anyways, I wish Rachel balanced the characters out more and gave us a reason to root for them. Since she doesn't, it's hard to really care that much about the show as a whole.
