Kde se dívat na Guin Saga
- Razorbitz20. září 2026This series is unfinished, intentionally. Its ending is strewn with unanswered questions, plot lines left dangling, character arcs unfinished. This is understandable, because Guin Saga is based off an existing novel series, and not just any. Guin Saga is to this day the longest fantasy series ever written by a single person, (over 150 novels!) and before the author's tragic passing in the middle of writing yet another novel in 2010 a year after the anime aired, stands as a largely unrecognized literary achievement in the west. Only a handful of the novels were ever officially translated and it's unlikely we will ever see it to its completion. So, the anime naturally would never have been able to concisely wrap up. And that's okay. Because this anime FUCKING RULES. There is a nearly naked buff amnesiac leopard man who RIPS A MAN'S ARMORED HEAD THROUGH THE TRUNK OF A TREE WITH SUCH POWER THAT THE TREE CATCHES FIRE FROM THE FRICTION. That is one example of many. There is plot, and buff leopard guy (the titular Guin) understandably wants to know what happened to him, but while everything is suitably epic and the fantasy backdrop beautifully realized...I'm here for Guin. The animation is gorgeous. Guin Saga apparently inspired Berserk as is obvious once you see the monsters that lurk in its world, but unlike Berserk this anime adaptation is gets the full monty of sublime animation and well realized action sequences. The pacing is solid, the characters visually unique if somewhat generic, but no expense was spared once the action starts happening, and my goodness does Guin NOT HOLD BACK. So when going into this series, adjust your expectations. Join me in suffering that we may never live to see a proper ending without having to learn Japanese and reading more books than I think Ive read in the past 5 years. It's pretty worth it!
