Gilmore Girls is taking a gratifying run at young-adult confusion through Rory's missteps. Smart girls flounder too.

At the risk of repeating myself, "Gilmore Girls" is one of the best things on TV. Still.

Lauren Graham should just get a bizillion post-show Emmys.

Gilmore Girls, in spite of its undercurrent of tension and occasional eruptions of tears and anger, has always been a quickstep of spunk and wry laughs. The premiere gushes both, but there's a bitter sadness permeating [Lauren] Graham's performance.
Jae-Ha Kim

By the end of the season, one of the characters will get married, another will have an affair, and a third will have a dalliance with an ex-boyfriend. But the relationship between Lorelai and Rory remains strong. And that's what keeps viewers watching.

Some may feel the "splitting up" of the Gilmore Girls hurt the show, but may find it more agreeable when the season is taken in as a whole.
