Seeking extradition of a witness in a Los Angeles homicide, Christie enters the northern California town of Monroe shortly after local officer Wayne Courtney is found slain. When Sheriff Burl Taggart takes a frightened young Mexican - American couple into custody as suspects, the local reactionaries cry out for prompt "justice." Our Lady in LondonPete's been kidnapped and his kidnappers make him call the Captain and tell him to meet them. The one he meets with tells him that he wants the Captain to accompany him to London. Evidently he is transporting something. Christie finds out and gets on the flight they're on and poses as a flight attendant.
