The popular children's books, written by Paulette Bourgeois, come alive in this television series about a turtle named Franklin. Each episode has a story of Franklin and his friends. You'll meet his parents, Bear (his best friend), Goose, Beaver, Rabbit, Mr. Owl, Badger and Snail along with other animal friends. You will follow the adventures of Franklin as he learns about the world around him, and how to be an honest turtle with good character.

Once he tells his parents what really happened, he learns what true responsibility is.

He didn't realize how practice can really be perfect until he noticed how well Beaver was playing the piano while he was out goofing off.

When problems arise, Franklin hides his bike and helmet thinking he'll be laughed at, but he is told that he needs to wear it if he wants to pass the safety course.

However, Franklin gets carried away with his party plans and offers to let Goose, Beaver, Badger, Rabbit, Snail, and all the rest join Franklin's parents in creating a spectacular celebration that Franklin will never forget.; All of Franklin's friends love the nickname that Franklin thought up for Bear, except for Bear himself. The nickname game soon turns up into a bad name game.

With help from his parents, he learns professional fire safety tips

A trip to Mr. Mole's garden gives Franklin a new outlook about sharing the world with other living creatures.; Franklin and Snail decide to run away after having a bad day (which started with being reprimanded by Mr. Owl at school for talking during reading time, getting chastised by Fox & Beaver for supposedly not playing fair at sports, Bear getting angry at him for having his library book that's almost overdue, and his Mom getting upset at them for making a mess after they decide to make their own snack because she was too busy painting the shed to make them one), but have trouble figuring out how to go about it.
