Double Life
Season 1
Only a while after the death of Mark Nuyens, his doting son adolescent son Maarten, his legally unwed ma, housewife Karen, and others learn that Mark lead a double bigamy-like life. Only Mark's brother Ruben knew he secretly married, in another province, advertising-career-bachelorette Nina. The inheritance is only one of many complications for the bereaved and those in their own lives.

New shoes hurt his feet and expose his affair to Karen, whose boss's ship is in trouble. Maarten's shyness to bring her to his old mates gang's costumed party turns off Goth girl Romy, whom Johan considers a good match. His ma starts as an orderly, thereto chucking in her shop clerk job without notice, but after a patience dies from cardiac arrest while she stands by uselessly dis-heartedly decides to quit, and somehow blames Johan either way. Nina was happy to overcome solitude by taking in 'for now' a colleague with marital problems. E11Zon, zee en toenaderingRuben and Johan finally convinced their vindictively reluctant girls to have a joined long beach camping weekend, with brat Hannah. Maarten wasn't supposed to come, given his exams cheating disaster, but he says he'll just wait for his inheritance at 21 and sleeps in a tent anyway with Romy, by a neighbor's pool, where they accidentally see Johann skinny-dip at his ma's instigation. The cops catch the kids but let them off with a warning. Nina refuses to formally respond to Ruben's proposal, as if it were just out of pity and to keep the baby. E13Het eindeKaren selfishly insist to ruin Maarten's life further by dragging him to her brother-in-law Koen's Bolivian development project (where she'll be of of no real use) for a whole year, although her parents offer to take him in. Only after learning Ruben convinced him to wait till age 18 and girl-friend Romy being dumped, she sees reason. Nina's pa Bert grudgingly hands her the address of her ma, who left them 20 years ago and refuses any contact. Bert convinces Ruben and Nina to make up and raise the baby together.
