The Ex-FilesAfter a man is found dead with a slashed throat and other injuries, police are left with no suspects. Local detectives decide to visit the family members of the victim to learn more about him, but discover a second ex-wife living in Arizona who carried an insurance policy on her ex-husband (the victim). Bothell (WA) and Mesa (AZ) detectives launch an in-depth investigation and use a ruse to gain the confidence of the suspect, Marty Malone. This strategy eventually results in Malone confessing to the murder and offering the detective money to cover up the evidence. Malone also offers the detective money to kill her accomplice, Jonathan Curtis. Both Malone and Curtis were convicted of 1st Degree Murder.
