- seanmc34May 18, 2025Ncuti Gatwa is a breath of fresh air that Doctor Who needed. Just like the relaunch in 2005 the second series is where it begins to find it's stride. (Not that the first series was bad, but the focus is building the foundation for where they want to go.) As with each new Doctor there are things that they do that others haven't done before. This one is after processing the trauma of the Time War and isn't afraid of showing his emotions. He occasionally emotes that the threat they're facing is terrifying. Other times he's seen having fun and enjoying life like someone younger in our time would. He's also not afraid of crying. Being that Ncuti Gatwa is a black man, the occasional racial issues come up in his travels. That also means he can also explore stories that all the other doctors couldn't. If you go into it remembering that it is a show for the entire family, and not watch with the expectation and intention of hating it because it isn't the Doctor Who from 15-20 years ago, you'll enjoy it. Personally, I look forward to seeing the adventures he has ahead of him.
- Timelord360June 2, 2025A chaotic production and funding issues haunt this series like a bad smell, but I overall enjoyed watching it. Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor is an absolute delight. Love him or hate him, the guy has more charisma, charm, and personality to match the other brilliant actors who have occupied the role, such as Tom Baker and David Tennant. Despite the behind-the-scenes turbulence, the show still manages to deliver on heart, imagination, and bold storytelling. The writing may be uneven at times, but when it hits, it really hits—offering some genuinely moving moments and exciting twists. The visual effects have taken a noticeable step up, and the music continues to elevate the emotional beats. Ultimately, it's a series that wears its ambition proudly. Flawed but full of life, this chapter of Doctor Who proves the show still has the power to surprise, entertain, and reinvent itself for a new generation.
- Bobby PolzerApril 26, 2025Worst Doctor ever. In recent years this show’s going downhill very fast.
