After serious budget cuts threaten department funding veteran Sheriff Joseph J. Jenkins takes an opportunity to have his department featured on a national reality TV series. The TV crew follows the daily musings of department rejects Richard (Rick) Riverson and James (Jim) Johnson whom to date have never solved a crime, though are quite infamous in their local community.

Detective Rodriguez befriends Riverson and attempts to tell him something that could ruin Burt. The Return: Part 1Rick & Joe prepare to arrest Burt for robbing a liquor store when he suddenly sneaks off and takes refuge at Douglas Newton's house. There, he learns Douglas is building a bomb which he plans to use on Lt. Riverson. Former County Sheriff Lieutenant Jim Johnson returns as FBI Agent Jim Johnson in the chilling season finale of County Sheriff.
