In each episode, experienced police commissioner Roos (hence the title) and his two assistants (in Dutch called inspecteurs, literally 'inspectors', in English rather equivalent to detective sergeants) of the Belgian national police investigate and solve one serious crime (sometimes with other linked crimes), usually a murder or kidnapping.
