When Contra Security wants a new member on their team of genius talent, leader Oz hopes to entice Cameron Bright. Oz is no stranger to manipulative tactics to win clients to his firm, whose genius includes the odd expertise of members Melanie Green, Cash Sparks, and Josh Armstrong. Keeping corporations safe from security breaches may, in fact, be the least of the team's worries under Oz's methods of leadership, which are questionable at best.

'Tis Better to Have Loved and Flossed
Due to his crush on Mel, who is firmly engaged with loutish Dutch, Cam volunteers to take the lead in her place when Oz orders the team to 'test breaking in' at the home of an 'old woman'. It turns out a virtual, physically dangerous fortress belonging to a fox. It keeps getting worse: she turns out to be Cam's new dentist flame, a fake damsel in distress and Oz's dreaded ex, with plans of her own for both boys as well as sabotaging the job.

White on White on White
Oz is hired to test a museum's security by attempting to steal a priceless, yet absurdly blank 'White on White' painting. Only Oz foresees the risks of Melanie's ex-con father returning in her life and volunteering for the case while Cameron and Dutch sort of rival for her hand.

Take the Movie and Run
A studio hires Oz to prevent pirate release of a sequel to cult movie "Goonies". Cameron and Calvin were to collaborate, but a prank war got out of hand and Cam has to ask Oz to remove his tormentor. Tracking the suspect to a comic convention, Cameron is sabotaged and fears a mole, with an obvious prime suspect, only to be corrected by Oz and overcompensates generously.

Season 1 Reviews
New York Daily News
David Hinckley
The plot doesn't offer a lot of possibilities. The jokes are predictable even when the delivery is hip, and none of the characters is especially likable.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Rob Owen
It's a strange little show: a lighthearted half-hour caper that purports to be a comedy but isn't really that funny.
Newsday
Diane Werts
Less pander, more wit, please.
Variety
Brian Lowry
Clever in spots and filled with pop-culture references, with its modest charms and well-trodden concept this comedic caper represents the kind of formula that has historically struggled to break out.
Uncle Barky
Ed Bark
Breaking In succeeds only in being a stupendously bad half-hour of television that should be charged with breaking and entering into unsuspecting living rooms.
Boston Globe
Matthew Gilbert
It's a happy mix, a breezy, playful half-hour that has the potential to open up into something special.
Los Angeles Times
Robert Lloyd
It's a have-cake, eat-it-too scenario that allows for the fun and excitement of illegal activity with none of the legal consequences.
USA Today
Robert Bianco
The characters and the plot twists combine to make the time pass painlessly.
PopMatters
Chris Conatan
If Christian Slater has proved anything over the past few years, it's that he can't draw a television audience.
San Francisco Chronicle
David Wiegand
The series does have an agreeable cast and clever writing, and perhaps enough of both qualities to go the distance.
HuffPost
Maureen Ryan
I can see Breaking In growing into a pleasant, mildly goofy comedy that offers the light-adventure qualities of a USA or TNT show and the silly diversions of a half-decent Chuck episode.
Chicago Sun-Times
Paige Wiser
The pace is so fast that, like a good party, you might forget everything that's happened even before it's over. That's the sign of top-notch disposable entertainment.
HitFix
Alan Sepinwall
Lots of good ideas, but the execution's still lacking.
TV Guide
Matt Roush
It falls into that category of being fairly clever without really being funny or all that amusing.
New York Times
Mike Hale
Breaking In isn't memorable in any way, but it's fast-paced and easy to watch, with some amusing secondary characters.
Boston Herald
Amy Amatangelo
Breaking In gets points for being an enjoyable half-hour.
