Remi's quiet childhood in chevegnon is interrupted one day as his father comes home after 7 years in Paris, telling him they're not his real parents, and that they can no longer afford to keep him. He is being sold to a travelling circus master, thus starting a journey across lovely French countryside, in the end of which he'll find his biological family, and a few other things.

Un enfant surgit de l'ombreAt the morgue, Rémi recognizes the bodies of Vitalis and Garofoli. Rémi flees with Mathia and while Matthia had robbed Garofoli's money, it was robbed by the smuggler helping them. Then Rémi and Matthia go find a job in the mine.

La proie pour LondresRémi and Mathia leave for London to find Rémi's real mother, but no one can help them since they don't speak French. Mathia leaves Great Britain for France. Lise confronts James Milligan, who now learns that Rémi is his real son.
