Young Tatsumi travels to the capital of the Empire in order to earn money for his starving people and encounters a world of unimaginable depravity, dominated by the ruthless Prime Minister who controls the child Emperor. Tatsumi is recruited by Night Raid, a group of assassins dedicated to eliminating corruption by mercilessly killing officials and privileged nobles.

Though after learning more about each of Night Raid's team members, he learns of their objectives to defeat evil and corruption and eventually decides to join.

Kill the Absolute JusticeNight Raid is tasked with the eradication of a drug trafficking organization within the Imperial City. Tatsumi and Leone head towards the red light district. The two learn of the horrific details of the organization and their rage is apparent. Meanwhile, Sheele and Mine go after the Tybil, former leader of the organization when they suddenly feel an alarming presence.

Kill the Three (1)General Esdeath arrives at the capital and is brought to the Emperor to discuss annihilating Night Raid. The Emperor wants to reward her for her services but her request is somewhat surprising.

Kill the Three (2)Tatsumi and Bulat stand before the Three. Among them is Bulat's former leader, Liver. The battle quickly turns into a one-on-one combat between Bulat versus Liver and Tatsumi versus Nyau.

Kill the Battle FanaticTatsumi inherits Bulat's Imperial Arms Incrusio after defeating the Three and vows to become even stronger. Mine's attitude towards Tatsumi seems to show a change after seeing his dedication during training... Meanwhile, General Esdeath receives news of the Three being defeated and in order to reinforce the army's strength she organizes a special police force of Imperial Arms users known only as the Jeagars.

Kill the TemptationTatsumi, captured by Esdeath, struggles with her romantic feelings towards her. They witness the power of the newly assembled Jaegers during a mission, and Tatsumi fears that this new enemy is becoming very strong.

Kill the Mad ScientistTeam Stylish carries out their attack on the Night Raid base, and multiple foot soldiers are killed during the assault, while Leone is incapacitated by a member named Trooma. One of the members, Toby, decides to duel Akame, and she is unable to fatally poison him with her Imperial Arm, Murasame, because his body is mostly machine due to it being installed with multiple weapons, but she is eventually able to kill him after he is impaled by Lubbock in an ambush. Meanwhile, Tatsumi fights Kaku, another member of Team Stylish, and is shocked to find that he has possession of Ecstasy, Sheele's old Imperial Arm. The battle is interrupted by Mine, who is also horrified to see Ecstasy, and she quickly kills Kaku, safely retrieving Ecstasy. Trooma prepares to ambush Mine, but is attacked by Leone, who had recovered, and she accidentally kills him with a single blow, to her displeasure. After Night Raid regroups, everyone but Tatsumi suddenly collapses, having been afflicted with a paralytic poison during the battle. When more foot soldiers move in, a biological Imperial Arm named Susanoo intervenes and dispatches them. Outmatched, Dr. Stylish injects himself with a liquid that turns him into a Danger Beast, and he consumes his remaining men. Tatsumi, Akame, and Susanoo fight Dr. Stylish before he is shot by Mine, allowing Akame to slash Dr. Stylish's real body contained in the Danger Beast, killing him. Najenda and a girl observe the aftermath of the battle.
Kill the Newcomers

Kill the NewcomersAfter dealing with Dr. Stylish's attack Night Raid leaves their base and hides in the mountains. After welcoming the newly joined member, Night Raid experienced a brief moment of peace, even amid training. Mine, who has been teased relentlessly Chelsea, the newcomer, tells Tatsumi and Lubbok that she wants revenge.

Kill the NuisancesA new species of Danger Beasts have emerged and has been terrorizing the vicinity of the capital. Minister Onest has ordered Esdeath to seize and defeat them. Esdeath leads the Jaegers to go to deal with them. But something suspicious in the shadow is keeping an eye on their actions. Meanwhile, after Night Raid settles into their new hideout, they're also on the move to deal with the new Danger Beasts.

Kill the Giant Danger BeastTatsumi and Esdeath meet again by chance while exterminating Danger Beasts. Esdeath is pleasantly surprised at the unexpected reunion while Tatsumi is overwhelmed. Even while fully immersed in the joy of their reunion, Esdeath notices that a man's been watching them from the shadows.

Kill the PuppetsIn order to combat the Jaegars, Night Raid is separated into two groups. Tatsumi and Akame are to deal with Bols, Kurome, and her puppets. The battle proves to be difficult as Kurome's Imperial Arms Yatsufusa has the ability to freely control the dead.

Kill the CurseAfter the massive explosion set by Bols' Rubicante, everyone from Night Raid and Jaegers manage to stay alive. As Bols walks away, he still thinks about the Jaegers as his family and he must regroup with them as soon as possible. Bols meets a wounded girl and treats the wound with a bandage, but the girl responded of how many people does he burned with his Rubicante and it reveals as the disguised Chelsea, piercing a needle on Bols' nape. Bols crawls as he accepts his fate and the only thing he can do is to get home but he succumbs. Chelsea meets Lubbock and she is requesting for reinforcements before Kurome acquires new puppets. Before trailing Kurome, Chelsea disguises herself as Bols. In the Night Raid outpost, they debrief on their skirmish with Jaegers until Lubbock arrives and asking for assisting Chelsea. Meanwhile, Kurome becomes tired and as she recuperates from their previous battle, she recalls her past with her older sister Akame where they're being tested first to become capable assassins. They passed the test but separated on which Kurome was designated on the Imperial forces and was experimented with various drugs to enhance her fighting prowess. After her recollection, Kurome is then joined by Chelsea, in disguised of Bols. Chelsea maintains patience but takes advantage when Kurome shows exhaustion, piercing a needle on her nape. Chelsea seems satisfied and recalls her past on how she wants to change the world by becoming an assassin, from her early days as an apprentice, seeing her master brutally toying people and accepting bribes, to acquiring the Imperial Relic Gaea Foundation on which she kills her master using deception. Chelsea shocks when Kurome approaches her and uses Natala and Doya to kill her. Akame and Tatsumi reaches a town and Tatsumi roams around in stealth, but shocks to see Chelsea's head placed on the top of the pole.

Kill the DemonBorick is scheming to take over a religious faction, and Night Raid heads to Kyoroch, where that religion has its headquarters. The Jaegars also head to Kyoroch to act as bodyguards for Borick. Wave is worried about Kurome, who still hasn't healed from her wounds. Night Raid safely infiltrates Kyoroch, however they must now face Borick's own appointed guards, the Four Koukenji Rakshasa Demons.

Kill the FateNight Raid continues to work on their plan to assassinate Borick in Kyoroch. Tatsumi and Mine wander around the city, but then end up running into Seryu, who is responsible for Sheele's death. Mine decides to end things once and for all with her, while Tatsumi fights Suzuka from the Four Demons.

Kill the CarnageKyoroch is freed because of Night Raid, which strengthens the Revolutionary Army's power. In this dire situation, Commander-in-chief Budoh and the minister's son, Shura, join the fight against Night Raid. Meanwhile, Night Raid infiltrates the capital yet again. Tatsumi and Lubbock go after Minister Onest in the palace by sneaking in with the help of one of the Revolutionary Army's spies.

Kill the DespairIn order to instill fear into the hearts of those among the Rebel Army, the capital has spread the word that Tatsumi will be executed publicly. Night Raid receives notice of this and intends to rescue him.

Kill the Little SisterFollowing Tatsumi's capture, Night Raid successfully defeated Commander-in-Chief Budou but at the cost of Main and Susanoo's lives. The Revolutionary Army surrounds the capital as the civilians start to riot. Wave is confounded by what he sees as Ran calmly observes how everything unfolds. Meanwhile, Kurome senses that the end of her life is drawing near and seeks to settle things with her older sister once and for all.
