- Scott PhelpsMarch 23, 2026Fantastic episode! The pacing, camerawork, dialogue and emotion throughout are so connecting for us as an audience. Deemed at first to be an interrogation, to search for an answer to a question left by previous episodes - "Why? What was the motive?", yet it leaves us as equally disgusted and shattered as Erin Doherty's heart-wrenching psychologist portrayal when learning the tragic revelation. An unfortunate, but all too true to life comparative of the fine line tread between masculinity and mysogony of today's generation - and how easily a young male can be broken by inward insecurities. ***SPOILER ALERT*** This episode reaches it's pinnacle moment when the camera slowly pans to a nulled and expressionless outward facade by Erin Doherty (though as the audience we see the emotional devistation in her eyes) whilst Owen Cooper delivers a harrowing background confession: "I could've touched her, but I didn't... Most boys would've touched her, so that makes me better" This statement shows the fear that such insecure fragility can lead to volatility and predatory behaviour, paired with the scary disassociation of such a heinous crime towards a poor young girl that Jamie condemns as a deserving "bitch and bully, right?".
