I'm not sure if it was intended to, but it was identical to the story in the anime "DAKAICHI -I'm being harassed by the sexiest man of the year". It was sweet, and iconic (particularly for the honey scene that blew up the Internet!), but ultimately it sputtered towards the end. Great series, but probably not worth the rewatch for me. That being said, it was one of the most popular series of the year by the larger BL fan base, so calculate that in your decision. There was real world drama after the series ended due to production companies and managers, meaning that this couple pair will never appear together again and despite their being a planned sequel, that will not be happening.
