A six-year-old elementary school boy dies after allegedly being pushed from behind while playing at a rooftop park. The accused is fourteen-year-old Ko Seung-bin. Seung-bin testifies that he saw the boy about to fall and reached out to "catch" him in an attempt to save him. The jury agrees it was an unfortunate accident and declares Seung-bin not guilty. A prosecutor reviews Seung-bin's record and discovers that he had previously been brought to juvenile court multiple times for minor offenses. However, because he was under thirteen at the time, the charges were dropped and no criminal record was filed. Looking at Seung-bin's history, the prosecutor begins to reflect deeply. As a result, the prosecutor-who also serves as a judge in the High Court-makes an unexpected decision: he voluntarily requests a demotion to serve as a judge in juvenile court. Giving up his promising career path, he firmly believes that only by intervening at the root and guiding troubled youth toward the right values can the emergence of the next "demonic juvenile" be prevented.
