This has some of the most messed up things ive ever seen and has made me laugh till I cried. The comic of this is different so u dont need to read them to understand this. Its starts off slow in season 1 but by the end of ep3 ull be happy u dont have to wait a week for the next episode. Its a great show with amazing actors butcher is perfect so is homelander.

The Boys essentially translates how anyone with an ounce of critical thinking sees American politics playing out in real-time. In certain cases things done on the show to mock and mimic the Trump dictatorship were filmed before the real example presented itself, essentially predicting the event. You'll see the Right down-rate this show as 'political propaganda' or 'Left circle jerking'. It's a knee-jerk reaction to the brutal assault on their carefully created, disinformation laden & frail FoxNews realities. On another note, the script is hilarious and has plenty of shock-jokes and unexpected twists and turns. Many of them gory or just plain gross-out humor. It's also a bit of a commentary on how actual Superheroes might behave, VS the polished world of Marvel. If you're intelligent and a fan of dark humor (usually goes hand in hand), then The Boys is for you.

Homelander is Superman with a god complex and zero empathy. The Seven are more brand ambassadors than heroes and Vought International runs it all like a PR machine. Enter Billy Butcher and his crew, regular humans with vendettas, grit and a lot of swearing. The violence is brutal, the satire is razor sharp and the moral compass spins like a broken drone. It’s not subtle, but it’s smart. The show dives into power, media and manipulation with a wink and a sledgehammer.

This show's political messaging became so heavy-handed that it strangled the story. What started as sharp anti-corporate satire collapsed into a Homelander-as-Trump caricature, red hats and all. The writers got so consumed with broadcasting their politics that they forgot the basic job of making a coherent entertaining show. Worst of all, it isn't even trying to change minds. It's stroke content for people who already agree, which is why every episode reads as cringe and circle-jerkish. Whatever happened to subtlety? Good satire trusts the audience. This show drags every point into bold 72-point font and wonders why nobody's impressed. The script reads like the prompt was: "You're a virgin Gen Z scriptwriter who thinks d*ck and fart jokes are peak humor." Every shock-value bit lands with a thud because there's no wit underneath it, only noise dressed up as edge written by neckbeards. It had potential. The early seasons had teeth. Now I'm just relieved it's ending, and I hope the spinoffs take the hint. Showrunners should respect the source material or not use the name at all. Edit: since writing this, Gen V has indeed taken the hint.
