Japan's 1980s 3D Videodisc system - 3D VHD25 years before 3D Blu-ray, some enthusiasts in Japan were watching 3D movies in their homes courtesy of the 3D VHD system. Better late than never I'm going to try it out. CORRECTION/CLARIFICATION Regarding the way the disc stores the 3D - as mentioned it’s two frames per rotation made up of four fields, what I neglected to mention though was that the fields alternate for each eye. So it’s left eye field 1, right eye field 1, left eye field 2, right eye field 2 …and that’s our two frames for that rotation - so then the pickup moves onto the next ring.
