Major of the Investigative Committee Marina Pichugina or, as her close people call her, Manya, moves from Moscow to the small town of Savelyevsk. Having grown up in a local orphanage, the heroine hopes to find her father in Savelyevsk, whom she mistakenly believed to be dead.
