If done right this could be a very good show. The pilot episode shows it has potential. Hope they keep the momentum going.
The pilot was incredibly tight. There are the familiar blandness issues you get with most all network tv, meaning this is probably gonna be a lot more inoffensive than say Silicon Valley, but I feel like a charming cast and a great mix of humor and dramatic action will make up for it, plus, it’s not necessarily a negative that this will be less depressing than more pointed critiques of our Californian overlords.
I’ve seen pilots firing on all cylinders like this with a disappointing season folllowing, but I have a good feeling here. This is the team behind Elsbeth, the Good Wife, Evil and the vastly underrated BrainDead, so this should be premium light entertainment for a bunch of seasons.
But, it’s the recently acquired CBS, don’t expect it to jab too hard at Oracle and friends.
