Helen Mirren anchors the story with a strong performance, and while the plot isn’t groundbreaking, it’s engaging enough to keep you hooked. A stylish, spooky watch for classic haunted-house fans.
- makdelart6 de maio de 2026The biggest flaw of this horror film is that it completely fails to create the right atmosphere and mood. The cinematography is unnatural; it looks artificial. From the outside, the house looks like a model built in a studio, whilst most of the interior scenes look as though the characters have been placed in a studio and lit with softboxes – there is a lack of natural lighting. The whole thing gives the impression that there was either a lack of funds or a lack of willingness to invest in post-production, which would have given the film the atmosphere of a haunted house. Some scenes look as if they were generated by AI. The constant jump scares are the only attempt at scaring the viewer, but they fall completely flat. Consequently, this horror film failed to hold my interest at all, let alone scare me. A waste of time.
