- Kevin Ward3 de julho de 2025I really loved the look of this film. Camerawork, lighting, kills were captured really well. Had never heard of cinematographer Michael Goi before and he seems to mostly have TV credits, but I thought the film looked great. Some overhead shots in a field looked particularly good. Plus Ludwig Göransson music. Also really dug Anthony Anderson and Gary Cole as partners. Solid slasher that slightly fizzles at the finish, but I still really liked it. Wish I’d seen the 1976 version first, but 🤷🏻♂️ didn’t feel like it was necessarily required viewing in order to enjoy this one.
- Nirupam19 de junho de 2025The Town That Dreaded Sundown is one of best small town slasher movie I’ve ever seen. The use of the Texarkana setting, how it uses the real life crimes and the 80s film, and the way the townsfolks react to the murders really help make this story feel as real as possible. And the slasher sequences are also so well done. The lack of background music at times makes the scenes feel so eerie and real. And the cinematography is really good with many split diopter shots and wide shots and longer takes and deep brighter colors. I’ve always been very impressed by this film. It could have easily been a quick cash grabby remake but it isn’t. It’s a very well made slasher movie. I recommend this.
