A paleontóloga Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), da Columbia University, abandona a segurança de seu laboratório para viajar com uma equipe norueguesa à região desolada da Antártica. Lá, a equipe, liderada por Edvard Wolner (Trond Espen Seim) e integrada pelo Dr. Sander Halvorson (Ulrich Thomsen) e Adam (Eric Christian Olsen), descobre uma estranha criatura enterrada no gelo. Mas a euforia da descoberta rapidamente se transforma num terrível pesadelo, quando a criatura volta à vida. Agora, Kate tem de unir ao piloto Carter (Joel Edgerton) e seu assistente Jameson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) para evitar que este parasita, que imita qualquer coisa que toque, coloque ser humano contra ser humano e mate a todos.

- adam31995 de julho de 2025Never released on 4K (and not on Blu Ray as far as I know) I wish it was because it as an excellent remake. Not superior to the original, but certainly worthy and on par.

- MrTrivet22 de setembro de 2025It turned out better than I expected. A solid prequel to the 1982 classic, it tries to creatively expand the lore established in the original. From my perspective, those were huge shoes to fill - I love the original - but in many moments, I could still feel the same icy, claustrophobic, and unsettling atmosphere. The acting is strong; the cast brings to life characters that really draw you into the dark world of the Antarctic station. The CGI effects are fine and work, but they lack the brutal, grotesque quality that the practical effects in the original had, which was probably my biggest expectation. I don’t want to sound like I’m whining that things were better before, but those kinds of effects just aren’t made anymore. Overall, the film maintains a consistent, dark mood and delivers several genuinely effective moments of horror. While it doesn’t match the original classic, I consider it worth watching - especially if you want to see how the story of such an iconic horror can be creatively expanded.
- Hoagie273 de outubro de 2025The original is far superior. This one is all half decent CGI little to no practical effects. It also feels like they started out doing a reboot and then changed their minds halfway through the script and decided to make it prequel.
- Zokkiie30 de setembro de 2025It isn’t bad at all — it’s got some tense moments, solid atmosphere, and cool practical/CGI mix, even if the CGI hasn’t aged perfectly. It doesn’t hit the same heights as its predecessor, but it works as a creepy little monster flick in its own right. Honestly feels underrated for what it is.
