- Patrick Wai21 de fevereiro de 2026Christopher Lee storms through The Devil Rides Out with such aristocratic conviction that you half-expect Satan himself to apologize for being late. Opposite him, Charles Gray makes an excellent villain—though if you’ve seen the Bond films, it’s impossible not to think Blofeld has simply traded his volcano lair for a nice English countryside cult. Their verbal duels are delivered with the kind of theatrical gusto that feels less like a movie and more like you’ve snuck into a very haunted stage play, where every line is pronounced as if it might be subpoenaed later. The plot, meanwhile, wanders around in a fog of occult jargon, spooky circles, and “wait, what just happened?” energy, before ending in a way that suggests even the Devil had somewhere else to be. But that’s part of the charm. This is peak Hammer horror: melodramatic, stiff, earnest, and unintentionally funny in all the best ways. Watch it not for coherence, but for the historical joy of seeing serious British actors battle ultimate evil with nothing but Latin phrases, intense eye contact, and absolutely zero chill.
