- Jeffhá 9 hIt was a fun 80’s feeling movie, definitely NOT for children, but jaime king and malcom mcdowell were great together. Some decent kills abound. It’s been hinted that it’s a remake of silent night, deadly night… but it’s not. It’s a stand alone film for those who like holiday horror.

Doesn’t have the same magic or whimsical Christmas vibe as the original, and the film makes some weird ass choices. It’s pretty hollow and we’re given almost nothing about the killer until the final frame. But the kills are great, without which there wouldn’t be much substance. 🎅

- Kevin Ward2 de julho de 2025I’ve not seen the original, so I don’t have much to compare. This film carries the mean spirited nastiness that I’ve heard of from the original. Some gruesome kills with largely unlikeable characters….it’s a real Christmas treat. I love a brutal achilles slicing. At some point I’ve got to check out the original.

- jackmeat22 de março de 2025My quick rating - 5.6/10. I always like it when a movie, especially horror just jumps right in feet first and will take the time to get to the plot after the killings start. Ok, for some movies that is. For this one, it works well. This is a pretty ambitious movie that I think overshot expectations a bit. The story is quite simplistic, Santa is on a killing spree seemingly at random. It doesn't take long to see there is a method to his madness though. Along the way, Malcolm McDowell plays the town sheriff who is the stereotypical small-town cop. The camerawork is what makes this movie really stand out. There is a really well-made flashback scene to help further along the killer's motives using the black and white with solid accents on the bright colors (think Santa and you'll get it) that almost sticks out as in the wrong movie. And our murderous St. Nick has no qualms about dispatching of his victims in brutal fashion leaving nothing to the imagination. Making sure to hit the tropes, expect some boobs which is partly for the plot and the other part obvious. The dialogue will also be par for the course and is very tongue-in-cheek throughout. It is just a nice way to bring an old-school slasher-type film in for the holidays without trying to be anything different but a straight-up Santa slaughter-fest. As far as this being a remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, I have to say I have to watch the original again. I don't recall it having anything resembling a plot. And I know for a fact it didn't look this good.
