Em um pântano distante vive Shrek, um ogre solitário que vê, sem mais nem menos, a sua vida ser invadida por uma série de personagens de contos de fada, como um grande e malvado lobo, três porcos que não têm casa, entre outros. Todos eles foram expulsos das suas casas pelo malvado Lorde Farquaad. Determinado a recuperar a tranquilidade de antes, Shrek resolve encontrar Farquaad e faz um acordo com ele: todos os poderão voltar às suas casas se ele e o seu amigo Burro resgatarem uma bela princesa, que é prisioneira de um dragão. Porém, quando Shrek e o Burro conseguem finalmente resgatar a princesa descobrem que os seus problemas estão apenas a começar.

With a voice cast that seems to fit the characters to a "T", bringing their antics and actions to life and animations that are as beautiful today as they were when it came out. The comedy is great for kids and parents alike, with lots of comments and quips to keep the parents entertained that will fly right over the little one's heads.

It's one of those films that felt familiar from the very first watch, the definition of an instant classic. The movie has aged like a fine wine. Do we love it sarcastically, ironically, genuinely or all 3? Why is Eddie Murphy so good at being a donkey? How do a Donkey and a Dragon have babies? Why is Shrek Scottish? These are deep questions that we may never get the answer to, but the mystery keeps us in a perpetual state of wonder. This movie single handedly gave All Star by Smash Mouth a new lease on life which sent Steve Harwell off the rails into a pit of insanity landing towards his untimely death in 2023. I've seen this movie converted in its entirety to a gif, I've heard of kids watching the entire movie in their heads. I have this movie on an SD card in the head unit of my car, which is more than I can say for my first love. Shrek is like 3rd love, you don't know what 3rd love is? Just like the Shrek Movies, the first one was good, the 2nd one was bad but the third one SUCKED D**K "Mike Myers is the man with a thousand voices and all of them Scottish" A very wise man once said “Shrek is love, Shrek is life” and I honestly haven’t been the same since I heard that
