Laura, is the coming of age story of a young girl, abandoned as an infant by her mother. Laura lives with her grandmother and for two weeks every summer she visits her father, a logger, who lives alone and isolated in the forest. A man of few words, the father is increasingly unable to communicate with his adolescent daughter. Her love to the forest, which communicates magically with her, clashes with his father's job and his inability to talk about what happened in the past with her mother.
