- Ashton Cole16 de fevereiro de 2026Christ, the storytelling is so powerful, and the sword fighting choreography puts Star Wars' finest lightsaber battles to shame. I watched this in anticipation of Laika's next film, Wildwood, and if it's anything like this, we'll be happy. My only point of contention is how the fluidity of the stop-motion makes it only subtly different from CGI, as Coraline director Henry Selick has pointed out over the years. It's just too perfect.

It’s got this really unique look that feels warm and crafted instead of flashy, and the atmosphere just pulls you in right away. The emotional moments land without trying too hard, which I appreciated a lot. It drags just a touch here and there, but nothing that really breaks the experience. Left me feeling a bit reflective by the end, in a good way.

- gmrxbox15 de outubro de 2024The immaculate stop motion animation leaves my jaw on the floor. The scale of some of the creatures, the ability to make convincing water and waves. Boggles the mind. Not to mention, the bittersweet tale of a boy searching for his purpose, the journey that takes him on, and the characters that he meets along the way. Matthew McConaughey and Charlize Theron make great traveling companions. My only issue with this movie is that the overall conflict doesn't do a great job of hooking into the emotion shown around Kubo and his mother. Still definitely worth your time.
