He meets Mamie, who falls in love with his beautiful black hair. The man induces her to work for him. Dan seeks solace at the theater that night. To his intense astonishment, he sees Mamie introduced as "Madam Zaza." He rushes home and tells Mamie's mother. They return to the theater and attack the hypnotist. Mamie is brought out of her trance with the aid of a bucket of water, just in time to see that the professor's hair is only a wig. Humiliated, the professor flees, while Mamie begs Dan for forgiveness.
