Bird Box is such an original movie. I love how the director manages to put the viewer right in the middle of the situation with our girl Sandra. The story is extremely well paced, the characters are very interesting, and the unknown villain only makes everything more suspenseful. The stakes feel real the entire time, and the movie does a great job of building tension without needing to show too much. I’ve very much enjoyed this movie every time I’ve watched it. Rating Breakdown: Story / Plot: 9/10 Acting / Voice Acting: 9/10 Characters: 8/10 Visuals / Cinematography: 8/10 Pacing: 9/10 Entertainment Value: 9/10 Sound / Music: 8/10 Rewatchability: 8/10 Suspense / Audience Appeal: 9/10 Overall Rating: 8.5/10

A somewhat refreshing look on the terror genre, with a great performance by Sandra Bullock. The cast all do a very good job. And as usual, evil humans are just as bad or worse as otherwordly malevolent beings.

If Brian Griffin provided audio descriptions while in a movie theater to this, it'd go "nothing's happening, nothing's happening, nothing's happening. It's over. A lot of people look pissed."

The movie is gripping, crisp and concise. I watched this move in the comforts of my home on Netflix and I guess this made it more exciting and i sat completely engrossed in the movie. I think it is one of those movies that is best for individual (or at home) viewing experience. It was an all out Sandra Bullock movie and she doesn't miss a beat! Once you give in to the notion of this ominous unseen evilness along with assumptions of its powers and limitations the movie is pretty interesting. It swings back and fort between the 1st time the attack (calamity/ mass suicides.. or whatever you wanna call) happened and 5 years later where Malorie (Sandra Bullock) is living a survivor's secluded life with 2 kids and her Bf/ husband (not clear) Tom , played convincingly by Trevante Rhodes. Its a good weekend watch and will not disappoint you if you enjoy psychological thrillers and Sandra Bullock performances!

So full of positive potential, it could have been a really good movie, but after Gary shows up, everything becomes so dull and flat. A truly wasted opportunity.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Bird Box – Fear of the unseen. This is a very well-made thriller that understands one of the oldest truths in horror: what you don't see is often far scarier than what you do. From the opening scenes right through to the end, the tension rarely lets up. The film creates a constant sense of unease, not through jump scares or gore, but through uncertainty. Every journey feels dangerous, every decision feels risky, and you spend much of the runtime waiting for something terrible to happen. Sandra Bullock does an excellent job carrying the film, grounding what could have been a very strange premise and making it feel believable. The supporting cast all contribute as well, but it's her performance that gives the story its emotional core. What really elevates Bird Box for me is its restraint. So many modern horror films eventually reveal the monster, explain the threat, or show you exactly what you're supposed to fear. Bird Box largely refuses to do that. We never truly see the creatures responsible for the chaos, and the film is stronger because of it. Instead, you're left wondering. What do they actually look like? Are they even physical beings? Is the horror something different for every person who encounters it? The unanswered questions become part of the experience. Your imagination fills in the gaps, and your imagination is usually far more effective than any visual effects department. That's why I think this film will continue to be remembered years from now. It understands that mystery has value. It trusts the audience enough not to explain everything, and in doing so creates a far more effective horror experience. I would happily recommend this to almost anyone who enjoys thrillers or horror. It's tense, intelligent, and incredibly effective at keeping you engaged from beginning to end. In my opinion, this is a future classic. 🥃 A candlelit drink during a power cut — tense, atmospheric, and leaving you constantly aware of the darkness just beyond your vision.

I kinda went in to this expecting that it could be bad. But I never expected it to be this awful. Very bad acting, editing and even effects. Full of plot holes and bad dialogue too. And maybe worst of all: it was boring as hell. One of the worst movies I've seen in a very long time unfortunately.
