- Rūdolfs Caunehá 6 diasSooooo long and sooooo boring.
- Scott Smith2 de maio de 2026This is a slow burner of a movie. Not much of an action movie, only a handful of short action scenes. More of a hard science sci-fi psychological thriller. Brad Pitt is good in this, and with his voice narration throughout of what he's thinking, it reminded me a bit of 'Apocalypse Now' at times. Except instead of going after crazy Col. Kurtz in the jungle, he's on a journey to find his crazy father orbiting Neptune. It was interesting enough, but I would never have a reason to watch it again.
- Dan S Turpin23 de fevereiro de 2025Latin phrase meaning "to the stars," per philosopher SENECA. Ad Astra (2019) is not about space exploration in the traditional sense. It is a journey inward, a meditation on isolation, fathers and sons, and the emotional distance that can feel as vast as the solar system. Brad Pitt plays Major Roy McBride, an astronaut whose pulse never rises, no matter the crisis. His father, Clifford McBride (Tommy Lee Jones), was a legendary explorer who vanished years ago on a mission to Neptune. Now, Roy is sent to find him after mysterious energy pulses threaten Earth. But this is not a rescue mission—it is a confrontation with the past, with a man Roy has spent his life trying to understand. Director James Gray presents space as silent and indifferent. The Moon is corporate and violent. Mars is cold and empty. Every step of Roy’s journey brings him farther from human connection, even as he searches for the one person who shaped his life the most. The film’s most gripping moments—like a pirate attack on the Moon or a distress call from a derelict ship—are not about action but survival in an unforgiving void. Pitt gives a quiet, restrained performance, his emotions buried beneath routine and discipline. His voiceovers are sparse, revealing a man who has spent his life running from his own feelings. When he finally reaches his father, there is no grand revelation, only a painful understanding: Clifford chose the stars over everything else, and Roy has been following the same path. The film’s resolution is not about saving Earth or even saving Clifford. It is about Roy realizing that he must return, that life is not found in the endless void but in the connections he has long ignored. Ad Astra is not a conventional sci-fi film. It is slow, introspective, and deeply human. It lingers not in spectacle but in silence, in the spaces between words, in the quiet grief of a man coming to terms with who he is. It is less about reaching the stars and more about understanding why we seek them in the first place.
- ys5gf820 de abril de 2025Boring, hard to pay attention to.
- elonleikkaaja29 de abril de 2026Dull and mid. Some cool scenes just shot for the trailers. Damn.
- Leustad3 de dezembro de 2025WTF did I just watched !!
- plexolog1st17 de abril de 2026Space movie with action, what more can you ask for.
- Kaldek2 de abril de 2026I watched Ad Astra when it first came out and didn't really dig it. It's grown on me over the years and become somewhat of a comfort movie.
- melonstack18 de janeiro de 2026A visual marvel. If you enjoy space films, of course you need to watch this. A little slow and 'drama-ey' but that's fine. Nice to see Brad in this sort of vulnerable character state.
- Atif Chaudry3 de dezembro de 2025Bit boring really. Gorgeous scenery and a very good cast. The story was quite interesting, but I drifted off at some point. Won't watch again, but don't regret watching, it was a slower paced sci fi and the characters had depth, which did make it slightly worthwhile.
- neuroparadox15 de novembro de 2025I liked it a little more on a second viewing after someone suggested watching as if it's Space Apocalypse Now. Which made sense and was interesting ,but didn't really change my rating. Felt more like Malick than Coppola.
- tellum5 de março de 2026Pretty bizarre movie with cool concepts like a moon buggy chase scene, but for me the ending was flat.
- Octothorn15 de fevereiro de 2026Seemed to start well, but lost me about midway. Regrettable. I don't even care to find out how it ended.
- Kratouille10 de setembro de 2025At first, I thought it was completely boring. I gave it a second chance, and it is not so bad after all. There are quite a few impressive scenes, but it is still a bit slow for my taste. Acting is good, but there is nothing screenbreaking. I might watch again.
- craft194725 de janeiro de 2026Boring and slow.
