Dennis Nash perdeu a sua casa por conta da hipoteca e teve que se mudar para um pobre hotel com sua mãe e seu filho pequeno . Desesperado para reaver seu lar, ele aceita trabalhar com o imoral agente imobiliário Rick Carver, que foi a pessoa responsável pela sua perda.     Rough. Granted this has been happening to people of color for a long time but this lets white people know it could happen to them! Feels very Japanese influenced! lol themes of bureaucracy akin to Ikiru and corporate overreach affecting vulnerable people akin to Evil Does Not Exist (I know it came after that’s just my recent point of reference) even somewhat spiritual. Some powerful acting! Laura Dern’s performance is iffy to me but I can’t imagine anyone’s reaction to being forcibly evicted so maybe it’s really good! The old man ruined me. Can’t justify working for evil. Can’t fuck over everyone just to survive. Can’t let evil corrupt your nature. Somehow this is controversial but I think housing is a basic human right ELIMINATE LANDLORDS Also this is not controversial but Florida has some bad gun laws lol what a climax. Hell of an ending!

    99 Homes is the American Dream stripped naked and sold off piece by piece, the foreclosure version of Dirk Diggler’s rise and fall. Michael Shannon plays greed with the same menace as a porn producer pushing his star past the breaking point, and Andrew Garfield is the desperate talent willing to sell himself just to stay afloat. It’s sleazy, raw, and more soul-crushing than Dirk’s final reveal in Boogie Nights.

    Great movie….. not the number one summer Blockbuster, but not every movie needs to be the biggest movie ever…. Great story! Another great performance by Michael Shannon, and you would never recognize spider man
