- ርልዪረ6 de abril de 2026Is it a coincidence that theater chains are struggling badly in 2026 while most of the films meant to bring in audiences are flat out terrible? I always go in hoping for the next masterpiece until I'm disappointed. In the case of "The Bride!" it didn't take long. This film is plagued by jumbled ideas, incoherent dialogue that often isn't discernible and feels like rambling at times and a director in over her head. Look, I'm a fan of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal as actors but Maggie has a long way to go as a director. Jake is just about completely wasted here. The great Christian Bale is limited by the script and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was a bunch of improvising here. I was really looking forward to a fresh take on classic tale and it really disappointed. Here's hoping that the slate of 2026's films going forward are much better, because so far, they've been quite disappointing and bad and "The Bride" is no different. I would NOT Recommend "The Bride!".
- wyn6 de abril de 2026Resplendent in every way. Jessie Buckley is THE SHIT. Everyone else great as always. Maggie had some fun good for her, loved it.
- fpmo346 de abril de 2026Rewatchable for sure
- ricomckee10 de abril de 2026This movie is just terrible. It is obvious this was someones vanity project as the stars in it show that someone thought this would be brilliant. However, it is not fun, it is not campy, it is not horror, it is not artsy...it is just bad with attempts to make it seem like it is high art. In reality... it is just terrible.
- A. Constantinhá 20 hWas alright, a bit of noir Bonnie and Clyde in a mental asylum. I did enjoy the main actress the most, she brought it!
- Ana12 de março de 2026This film is to Frankenstein as “Wuthering Heights” is to its original novel. Iykyk
- Darren Gibsonhá 3 diasA great adaptation. Worth a couple of watches
- Nookie La Lahá 6 diasWasn’t sure what to think because of the poor ratings but I don’t know what movie they watched; the one I watched was amazing. Loved the quirkiness. Worth watching and would watch any sequels should they be … reinvigorated. 4½ out of 5 rubber chickens.
- Devin Ford8 de abril de 2026Worst version of Frankenstein I've ever seen. This movie has no idea what it wants to be, a monster movie, a ghost story, a gangster film, a musical. There is no direction whatsoever and it makes it almost impossible to watch.
- HannahMichelle7 de abril de 2026Amazing. Hope they make a second one
- Karin e Borishá 7 diasToo much forcing. You can always feel the desperate attempt to be over the top. And then I found the theme of feminist inspiration at all costs extremely specious. However, the excellent acting balances the less pleasant aspects.
- barryl366 de abril de 2026It's an immortal Bonnie and Clyde. I dig it. It's a rewatch for me.
- Hipster ZOMBIE14 de março de 2026Not sure why Frankenstein has been such a popular property Hollywood has desperately tried to pump woke ideology into over the past 3-4 years but The Bride is another Frankenstein film that fails to hit the mark. It wants to be seen as artsy and daring like Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein film. However, director Maggie Gyllenhall instead does everything she can to steer clear of what makes the tragic monster unique and instead wants to make the film an odd mashup of The Great Gatsby and Joker: Folie a Deux. Christian Bale plays Frankenstein like a simp while Jessie Buckley really tries hard and sometimes achieves moments of greatness as the Bride. However, the script doesn’t do any of the actors any favors and ultimately the film descends into yet another preachy woke story that not only misses the point, it fails to make a convincing one. And don’t get me started on the cringe inducing dance numbers. On paper, the idea of a Bonnie and Clyde/Frankenstein and his Bride mashup sounds great. Maybe in a better director’s hands it could have been. Bottom line, this film is one Bride that audiences should leave at the altar.
- Mr Chr0m3há 7 diasNot a masterpiece
- jthygesen23 de abril de 2026I wanted to like this but the only saving grace is Jessie Buckley. Everyone else felt like they were in a different movie. Message before plot never works....
