Frank Cross é um diretor de uma rede de televisão que é frio e só pensa na audiência.     Murray runs the comedy gambit in this 80s holiday adaptation. Funny, weird, outrageous. Throw it in the Christmas rotation. Allen is a gem.

    A well done twist of the old classic 'A Christmas Carol,' as Bill Murry let's out his grumpy charm for a holiday classic. Easy to recommend if you already like Bill Murry or you want to see him suffer.

    The Christmas Carol reimagined in the 1980s with Murray as the star hits all the usual beats while adding lots of comedy to the story.

    Saw this one in the cinema when it came out and it felt like Christmas got mugged by sarcasm and then hugged by sentiment. Bill Murray plays Frank Cross, a cynical TV exec who’s more interested in ratings than holiday spirit. It’s a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol, but with network satire, ghostly chaos and Murray doing his best “emotionally constipated but redeemable” routine. The ghosts are wild: David Johansen as a cab driving Ghost of Christmas Past, Carol Kane as a fairy with a mean right hook and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come looking like a TV tower from hell. The tone swings hard, one minute it’s slapstick, the next it’s existential dread. But somehow, it works. The ending is loud, messy and oddly moving. I loved the energy, the weirdness and the way it made adult years feel chaotic, sentimental and just a bit haunted.

    It might not be accurate to the book, but this is my personal favorite version of Dickens Christmas Carol. I'm a fan of Bill Murray, and while it's not his greatest role, he can somehow present himself as lovable and hateable at the same time.
