Plot holes? Maybe. Entertaining as heck? Oh yeah. Feels like a cross between Ocean’s Eleven and The Prestige.

    ## Synopsis FBI and Interpol work to track down a group of magicians that managed to rob a bank in Paris while on stage in Las Vegas. ## Review This was such an inventive movie at the time. There is magic for characters in the movie as well as us watching it. Trying to figure out how things were done. Having the beloved Morgan Freeman play the character, plus giving the secrets away made us feel like we were ahead of the investigation. However, as the movie goes on, you still have the feeling that you are watching a magic show trying to figure out how the next trick is done. It doesn't take away from the movie at all. I really like the threaded backstory of social justice where insurance companies do everything they can to swindle people after events based on technicalities. It is a great Robin Hood type story about criminals taking the fight to the rich to serve the poor. Ethics and morals are set aside for movies, but it is a good question. I think this time I watched an extended version which allowed for much more conversation about "The Eye." While it doesn't matter too much for this movie alone, but it is much more important to building [[Now You See Me 2]] and what I believe will happen in [[Now You See Me Now You Don't]]. I don't have any real issues with the acting. Some characters are very narrow in their performance, but the main players such as Ruffalo and Eisenberg do a great job of playing their character and all that comes with playing a double life. ## [My Rating] I have always enjoyed this movie. From the first time watching it to this time. Is it the greatest movie? No, of course not. Is it highly entertaining? Yes. They do a great job of showing the tricks and using sound to pull you in. Especially in the final trick. Love the sound of the lights moving. This is worth watching again if you haven't seen it in a long time. An 8 for sure. ## [Parental Rating] Some language, most of it in reference to sexual acts, will keep my parents at arms distance from this movie. Would they watch it? Yes. Have they and enjoyed it? Yes. There isn't a ton going on that is objectionable other than the language. So approved by both.

Epic movie. Has that mysterious "wtf is going on" feel for almost the entire movie. Really entertaining.

remember loving this a lot in high school, but watching it now the camera makes me nauseous. that bitch is constantly spinning 360 degrees in nearly every scene; i choose to believe it’s purposefully done to disorient me, the viewer, so i’m more susceptible to the subliminal messages isla fisher and dave franco are sending me. well i have received your messages and am purchasing a plane ticket to meet with you two and we can have our challengers mo-

Interesting concept of using magic to pull off a robbery and then explain how it all done.

It may have some flaws, but it's fun, it's thrilling, it's compelling, and it's overall great as a crime movie.
  • Alex Lyons27 de janeiro de 2026
The plot twists are almost as magical as the tricks themselves.

What’s the point of magic tricks when you know the editor and the visual effects can make anything happen ? This has to be the stupidest heist film series ever. The backstory with Melanie Laurent and Mark Ruffalo is pointless.

Now You See Me is a great movie with some really cool heists!! From the opening with seeing all the characters I was hooked. I really enjoy all the characters and their chemistry on screen. I love the magic tricks, and to this day they still blow me away! The twist at the end of the film was done really well in my opinion and was shocking to me. So overall a great movie, that blows me away everyone I watch it, with a great twist!!

Do you believe in magic? This movie 🍿 proves that there is power in magic. This was not my first time seeing this film, and yet the mystery and magic in the inaugural adventure of the Four Horsemen still feels like magical lightning. The logical movie editor side of me looks at this film and can see all the cuts, tricks of the camera, and editing techniques to make this film standout. The creative side is caught up in the magic and majesty involved in weaving this tale of intrigue, wonder, and mystery that is brought to life before our eyes in this tapestry of four members of a team Robin Hood taking from the rich, and giving to the poor.
