The chemistry between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover is still on point, and the stakes are higher with the whole diplomat subplot. It's got great fight scenes, a solid villain, and more of that classic buddy-cop banter. While it's not quite as fresh as the original, it's definitely a worthy sequel. Definitely worth a watch if you’re a fan of the first one

- ርልዪረ26 de janeiro de 2025"Lethal Weapon 2" is a rare case of a sequel being better than the original as Richard Donner, Mel Gibson, and Danny Glover all return and deliver a follow up that creates bigger stakes, delivers bigger action scenes, and has even a greater villain in the South African drug smugglers. With a story from Shane Black, we see Riggs and Murtaugh on the hunt to take down Arjen Rudd and his gang who are protected by diplomatic immunity in America by their South African government, making it hard for them to arrest them on the slightest of charges, and seeing them go to extreme lengths to take them down makes this for even better than that of Garey Busey's Joshua as they have the information on various cops on the force and even find ways to rig explosives in the home of Murtaugh. Gibson and Glover's chemistry yet again is dynamic and the relationship between Riggs & Murtaugh feels even more like a friendship and brotherhood here as they naturally bounce off one another, but the addition of Joe Pesci as witness Leo Getz makes for some great comedy as he is constantly annoying them while they do their best to protect him from the South African gang, while Rika Van Den Haas proves to be a proper love interest for Riggs as she works for Rudd yet it's clear she understands that he is clearly abusing his power and wants nothing to do with his evil actions. This franchise has some of the best use of explosions in any action franchise as they feel so real and impactful, but the story allows for great building on previous storylines from the first film as we see Riggs still struggling with the loss of his wife which pays off massively in this film, and even Murtaugh's daughter Dianne being a running joke due to a commercial she does for a condom brand but even little moments such as Riggs trying to break out of a strait jacket for fun comes back around at a crucial moment and overall this is how you do a sequel justice. One of the best sequels ever? I'd say yes.

The first film set everything up, but here you feel like you’re just hanging out with them — laughing at their banter one second and holding your breath the next. The bad guys are South African diplomats hiding behind “diplomatic immunity,” which makes them infuriating to watch because they think they’re untouchable. It gives the story that extra edge, because Riggs and Murtaugh can’t just throw them in jail. Joe Pesci shows up as Leo Getz and completely changes the vibe. He’s fast-talking, annoying, but somehow hilarious, and the three of them together is pure fun. The action is exactly what you want from the late ’80s — big explosions, wild stunts, and a finale that sticks in your head. But what surprised me is how much heart it has. Riggs dealing with his pain adds a weight you don’t expect in a buddy-cop flick. In short: it’s bigger, funnier, and somehow even better than the first one. Still one of the best sequels out there.
