Dirigido por Guillermo del ToroJá perto do fim da 2ª Guerra Mundial, os nazistas tentam eliminar seus inimigos usando magia negra. Uma das experiências feitas é a tentativa de invocar forças ocultas. Um deste rituais é interrompido pelas forças aliadas, que encontram um garoto com aparência de demônio e a mão direita feita de pedra, apesar do ritual não ter sido concluído. O garoto passa a ser chamado de Hellboy e é levado pelos Aliados. Sessenta anos depois, Hellboy agora luta pelo bem e é chamado quando um estranho fenômeno, possivelmente sobrenatural, acontece.

- zheinmuadhib30 de abril de 2025Watching it again as adult, I find it very enjoyable. It’s fun, silly and a bit of scary coolness to it. Reminded me of the time where movies would shoe horn a love story just because to make the main character relatable. It was a bit of a Disney love story which I find it silly yet fun. Watch this if you want to see the cool character designs and to decompress.

- Richard25 de outubro de 2025Saw it on DVD and it’s still one of the coolest comic book adaptations that doesn’t feel the need to explain itself every five minutes. Guillermo del Toro brings Mike Mignola’s world to life with gothic flair, practical effects and a lead performance that’s pure cult gold. Ron Perlman is Hellboy, a cigar chomping, cat loving and perpetually annoyed by bureaucracy and destiny. The BPRD setup is pulpy perfection and the creature design? Peak del Toro: slimy, stylish, and weirdly beautiful. The plot’s a bit standard, Nazis, portals, Rasputin, but the execution is anything but. It’s the kind of film that trusts its tone, leans into its comic book roots and delivers action with personality. Selma Blair’s Liz Sherman adds emotional weight, Doug Jones as Abe Sapien is a silent MVP and the whole thing feels like it was made by people who get the genre. Watched it again recently and it still holds up. A cult classic that never needed a reboot, just a good cigar and a big red fist.
