Does this movie have a lot of jumpscares? Yes way too many. Was this scary? Yep, scared me pretty damn good. But, nothing was as painful and unbearable to watch as that teeth cleaning scene.
Horror movies are very scary and everything, but nothing beats the horror of having to clean 20 years of bad bucal hygiene.
Insidious: Out of the Further
Frankenweenie
Not going to lie, I would litteraly do the same for my little doggo.
Frankenweenie
Ice Cream Man
The true horror of Ice Cream Man is having use generative AI to try to shoehorn a semblance of a coesive story in that movie, but failing to realize that there was no story to begin with.
Ice Cream Man
One Cut of the Dead
This movie affected my well being in one of the most positive and unexpected way. I am dead serious!
One Cut of the Dead
The Haunted Mansion
When you truly think about it, this movie and the movie Ghost have literally the same third arc.
The Haunted Mansion
Scream 2
I truly think this is one of the best Scream from the entire franchise, but good lord does that car scene drive me absolutely insane.
SMACK HIM SID, DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING TO DEFEND YOURSELF PLEASE!!
Scream 2
Longlegs
False advertisement, I couldn't find a single pair of long legs in that movie. Such shame.
The dread I felt in the first part of this movie was so strong and uncomfortable. Elisabeth Moss performance is so good and really makes you feel all of it.
I don't think, it needed to become as exaggerated as it did in the second half, but this movie deserves a spot in the list of the best horror/Thriller of the 2020s.
The Invisible Man
Barbarian
Do you know why the Barbarian main movie poster is red? It's to represent all the characters in the movie who can't for the life of them see red flags.
Barbarian
Weapons
I'm not sure what I preferred about this movie. The fact that most of the characters in this movie are well written and all properly likeable and unlikable, like regular humans.
Maybe it's the well made bleak atmosphere that let you go "man nothing good is about to happen".
Or the absolute weird villain and amazing over the top ending.
But I believe that this movie deserves it's place amongst best modern horror movies along Obsession, Hereditary and Bring it back.

Proceed to lose his cool and show a lot of emotions.
Joke aside, a slowburn fantastic movie!

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Wow what did I just watched. Such a unique fever dream movie that works well as an odd thank you to the slasher genre, but more than anything as a deep dive into social perception and queerness. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma tackles sexual pleasure, self love and agency all this packed in a weird 80s grainy motion picture filled with Easter eggs. Not something I had on my bingo card.
In a way, this movie reminds me of Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vermont from 2006, for the way that it uses common slasher tropes to renegotiate how viewers should perceive them or at least to push a reflection in it's audience
It's quite the trip and the sort of film that lingers with you about it's subject. It will either leave you on a "I'm sorry wtf was that?" Or end up moving you in some sort of way. Either way, by far one of the most unique watched this year for me!
I think that, similar to Disclosure Day which came out this year, the End of Oak Street suffers once again from very questionable writting, plot points and weird pacing. It makes me wonder if it's me getting out of touch or if these older amazing writters are just losing it.
Visually this movie was fantastic and I loved the dinosaur. I think this is 100% where that movie shines. But the characters act so erratically and make such abriterary stupid decisions. I'm glad the movie was 1h30 minutes because I am not sure I could have taken much more of them.
And that ending. No spoiler here, but how is that ok?! A meh overall movie, that got me more frustrated than anything. Pretty cool dinosaurs tho!
Not only is this one of the best horror movie ever made, but I believe its one of the best film made ever.
That spiderwalk scene lives rent free into my brain since I was 16.
The Exorcist
Cabin Fever
This movie really escalated quickly. Clearly someone took a bit too much acid before making that movie!
