Yeah, I see why people love this movie. I didn't absolutely LOVE it, but I highly enjoyed it. I loved the hard cuts, and the lack of hand holding with certain exposition elements. Definitely gave me Se7en/Silence of the Lambs vibes in a weird way.
The Exorcist III
Terrified
Not bad, sorta forgettable. Had some unique ideas and concepts, but I couldn't help but feel it was slightly underbaked.

Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th
THE quintessential documentary on the Friday the 13th franchise. If you want more, get the large Crystal Lake Memories coffee table book that this is based on(?)
Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th
Cool little ad for Angry Orchard. Technically the first “canon” F13 project we’ve had since the 2009 reboot, right before Crystal Lake. Scrubbed from the internet for some reason.
As a massive fan of the Friday the 13th franchise, I was absolutely enthralled with this show from start to finish. I understand some of the fandom isn't fully on board with the new Jason background/lore, but honestly it's a breath of fresh air. This is my favorite horror franchise of all time, and it was honestly stagnant for so long, that I'm just so happy something is being done with it.
Linda Cardellini knocked it out of the park. The acting is fantastic across the board, the kills are brutal and (somewhat) creative, and it's so cool seeing the original town again. The set pieces are top notch. The kid that plays Jason did a really good job as well, and the makeup for him was executed very well.
My only glaring issue with this show is that it completely changes the lore of all previous movies, especially the first movie. Some of the changes felt unnecessary, and muddying the timeline didn't HAVE to be done. I'm curious what this means going forward, are ALL movies going to be retconned now? Is this it's own separate timeline? So many questions. All in all, I enjoyed pretty much every moment of this show.
I was weirdly engaged with this movie from start to finish, even though I ultimately didn’t like it. It’s pretentious as fuck. I enjoy my fair share of pretentiousness. But there’s a point where it all becomes exhausting. I appreciated some of the stylistic choices, but I became annoyed with how relentlessly it hammered home its themes of sexual repression, queer identity, or whatever the fuck it was trying to say. There’s a difference between a film that gives you something to think about, and one that’s desperate to make sure you know there’s “something to think about”.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
My personal favorite Tarantino flick. Peak Hollywood mixed with Manson hippie era vibes, I’m all in. Definitely an ode to things that Tarantino loves. But I’m here for it.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
Hysteria!
A fun campy 80’s satanic-panic, almost satire-esque romp. Very tongue-in-cheek, the show almost plays itself straight, but there’s this air of self awareness that makes it a blast to watch. Some of the acting is hit or miss, but that’s okay given the campy-ness. Love seeing Bruce Campbell any chance I can get. Also, Nolan North is here, and that’s always a treat.
