Bursted into tears when they show the F4 getting their powers and it turns into a body horror. This rewatch felt more painful than when the 4 get their powers.
Maria Menounos as ‘sexy nurse’ is the equivalent to Kawhi on the Raptors. I loved it and I deserved more. I can’t put it into words really but the charm this thing possesses outweighs most negatives. Greatest 3.5 stars of all time.
Comedies with good cinematography are back on the menu gadies and lentlemen. Liam Neeson is so committed to this bit it’s sensational. Also, I cannot believe Cody Rhodes is in this thing AND apart of one of the funniest jokes lmao small world.
Don’t introduce me to a lifestyle you can’t maintain, Marvel. Quite possibly the most visually stunning MCU film ever — absolutely striking visuals that gave me 2001/Interstellar vibes at points. The retro-futuristic aesthetic, combined with the practicality of the sets, just makes this a wonderful treat. It’s an experience which at its core is about family and let me tell you, Marvel’s first family is the best we’ve ever seen them. Their love adds all the stakes and makes this a real nail-biter by the end. Sue Storm, to be transparent, is clearly the standout — Vanessa Kirby is the real soul of this team. Michael Giacchino once again has me levitating with that score. Any moment we’re with Galactus, the music will generate this ominous atmosphere that will make you feel little. They finally did The Devourer justice like c’mon did you see his glowing eyes?! An imposing universal force of nature that looks comic accurate wowzers. Silver Surfer too, the things she does in this film… how do I get her number? The story really does feel like they gave me everything I wanted with Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). Stay for those end credits. Chills. Very excited 4 the future.
A journey into the abyss and best believe it looks back at you. An absolutely bleak political thriller that’ll make you feel hopeless as corporations shape the modern political landscape with human pawns. Conspiracy will be sure to consume you with this one.
It doesn’t get more Superman than this. Cut from the same cloth as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man in the purest, most sincere and hopeful way. Genuine delight to my eyes I’m smiling ear to ear typing this. In love with the lived in superhero world and with the way Gunn teases the future… I NEED THE WHOLE LOAD NOW. Corenswet and Brosnahan nailed it — that really is Clark and Lois. Lex Luthor might’ve stolen the show for me, Hoult displays some of the greatest hating I’ve ever seen. Let’s also talk about The Flash’s cinematographer getting redemption, this film looks TERRIFIC (say that again). The action is by far and away the best Superman action I’ve seen on screen and it’s so dynamic and badass I’m just grateful to be alive. It really has this Saturday morning cartoon charm that just works. I can’t wait to see this again and again because DC IS BACK!!!!!!
Makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. Christopher Reeve was simply born to be a Superman. The personification of charming and sincere. Two hours of pure superhero business: stopping a nuke, catching thieves, carrying a plane, shifting tectonic plates, reversing time and even rescuing a cat from a tree. Shocked how well this holds up too; it’s quite easy on the eyes. Made me happy, made me smile.
Ivanna Sakhno delivers an insane physical performance. Commanding presence with a stone cold face, I actually thought she was a robot for a sec. Shin Hati, you will always be famous. Also, I’m pretty pleased with this pivot from meh pg-13 slasher to action sci-fi comedy. Like it goes bonkers — Megan starts moving like Neo from The Matrix meets Arnold’s Terminator while trying to save THE WORLD from an omnipotent ai god. You’ll wonder how we got here but you won’t question it because you’re vibing with Megan singing Kate Bush.
Some thrilling dino set pieces and some hot people in them. I hope I wasn’t the only person who shouted “THEY SWIM NOW?!” When the T. Rex entered the water. I have my grievances and this is most certainly inflated by the fact I was at the NY premiere but I had a good time.
The film equivalent to lightening in a bottle. An experience filled with magic and wonder, not just from the dinosaurs, but also from Ian Malcolm’s ramblings. THE blockbuster of all time.
Camera work is extraordinary. Mr Boyle has changed the game once again. It’s horrifying yet extremely heartfelt with one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve seen this year. Memento mori. It’s not what you’d expect and that’s for the better. Really do wish Samson wore some pants though.
