I really love the idea of this show, and I do believe it's a bit of a metaphore in a sense. We're all purposely disconnected from the truth, kept in a state of fear and obedience, or else face rejection from society/authority. We're all kept in a silo in a sense, each one being taught different lies. The entire world is kept under illusions so they won't revolt. Sound familiar? Sure does to me.

I thought about changing it after season 2, but decided to give season 3 a chance to redeem itself. I was not surprised to see it did not. So sad, this show had such a great premise. I'm not sure there are any good writing teams left in T.V. or Movies. Edit: I wish all the soap operas that were cancelled in the early 2000's were still around. At least then, this type of crap would have a place, and writers wouldn't feel the need to include it in absolutely everything they make.

When we learn that one of the silo’s most capable figures willingly abandoned privilege to live among the working class, the show sharpens its focus on choice versus obedience, and whether opting out of power is itself a kind of rebellion. Season one is a masterclass in sustained tension. Nothing explodes without consequence, and nothing is revealed without cost. By the time the truth starts to fracture the official narrative, you’re already complicit — you understand why people cling to lies, and why tearing them down could be catastrophic. That approach can be both the show's greatest strength and its biggest obstacle. The series is at its most captivating when its revelations reshape the people living inside the silo, but far less effective when it mistakes withholding information for building suspense. Even during its slower stretches, the production design remains exceptional, creating an environment that feels convincingly lived in rather than simply constructed. Rebecca Ferguson continues to define the series as Juliette, giving the character a quiet resilience that never depends on grand speeches, while the supporting ensemble has steadily grown into one of the show's strongest assets. As someone who grew up a The Walking Dead devotee, I also enjoyed seeing Avi Nash in a substantial recurring role, bringing a welcome sense of warmth and humanity to an increasingly heavy story. The first season lays an absorbing foundation, the second expands that mythology with greater ambition, and the third pushes even further into the history of this world while proving just how difficult it is for Silo to maintain momentum across an entire season. Its ability to move between the present and the “before times” without making hundreds of years of history difficult to follow is genuinely impressive, but another heavy middle stretch shows that the series still has a tendency to stretch its mysteries and plot lines beyond their natural lifespan. Fortunately, the closing run continues to be where Silo is at its best, with the final two episodes of the third season delivering some of the show's strongest filmmaking yet. The adaptation continues to honor the spirit of Hugh Howey's novels while making thoughtful adjustments for television, and although pacing remains its most persistent weakness, Silo has now built a world compelling enough to keep drawing me back underground.
