Młody chłopiec o imieniu Ash Ketchum razem ze swoim pierwszym pokemonem, Pikachu, wyrusza w podróż. Jego celem jest zostanie "Mistrzem Pokemon". Podczas wielu przygód udaje mu się poznać nowych przyjaciół, są nimi: Brock - trener skalnych pokemonów oraz Misty zajmująca się pokemonami wodnymi. Cała trójka postanawia wspólnie wyruszyć w drogę. Zdobywając nowe pokemony i trenując je, odwiedzają wiele interesujących miejsc, m.in. Kanto, Wyspę Pomarańczy oraz Johto. W podróży co jakiś czas przeszkadzają im tzw. "czarne charaktery" znane jako Zespół R czyli Jessie, James i pokemon Meowth, którzy chcą ukraść bohaterom ich pokemony.

- Soham Jaiswal31 marca 2025Ig i outgrew it by the time i reached sun and moon but ngl i think it was just them targetting a younger audience, X&Y was really aligned with me as a teen, why tf would you want to put ash in a school after all that, made no sense in the narrative, i dropped it at that point but i think for what it was and the amount of friends i have made by connecting to people through this show, it's an integral part of my life and i think everyone who lives on this earth would do themselves a service if they watch this lol.
