In the 1990s, Chen Yi and Miao Jing met through their parents' acquaintance. Initially, Chen Yi was hostile toward Miao Jing, but after an injury, her kindness began to change their relationship. However, their happiness was short-lived-Chen's father passed away, Miao's mother disappeared, and their parents never got together. Left without support, the two children had to rely on each other. In college, Miao Jing bravely confessed her feelings, but Chen Yi got entangled in an arson case as a key witness. To protect Miao Jing, he forced her to leave Teng City and cooperated with the police to capture the suspect. Years later, Chen Yi runs a billiard hall, while Miao Jing returns to Teng City for an audit job at Good Luck Logistics. They reunite, but Chen Yi, who has always been wary of Good Luck's owner Zhang Bin due to the arson case, tries in vain to stop her from working there.
