Starring Josh Hutcherson (of Hunger Games fame) as Josh Futturman, an unassuming janitor and gamer who’s suddenly pulled into a real-life mission to prevent humanity’s extinction, it’s equal parts time-travel adventure and absurd satire. What follows is a hilarious cascade of paradoxes, culture shocks, and cause-and-effect disasters, as Josh and his future-born companions try — and repeatedly fail — to fix the timeline. Every trip through history introduces new problems, stranger customs, and plenty of awkward encounters that leave our hero perpetually out of his depth. It’s a much lighter, sillier ride than Hutcherson’s darker roles, but he nails the comedic tone, proving he can handle both drama and ridiculousness with ease. The writing balances clever sci-fi ideas with outrageous humour, never taking itself too seriously — even when the fate of the world’s on the line.
